Tools for the Homestead

This section presents some ideas on the best tool choice and use for greater food production in our own backyards.

As the economic crisis deepens, we may well turn to local craftsmen to supply our tool needs. I’m really excited about a “country blacksmith” I “met” via this site who is committed to making high-quality hand tools for homesteaders. See A Handcrafted Broadfork for more on the history of Larry Cooper’s broadfork—and the option of buying one.
