The Forest Garden

*Table of Contents for Forest Garden Section is at bottom of this page.*

This section presents the permaculture concept of the “edible forest garden”. All homesteaders, but especially those considering planting a home orchard, would do well to learn more about this exciting and powerful concept.

We begin the section with “Starting an Edible Forest Garden”, a sketch of the basic concepts, and a description of our modest beginnings here at Boxwood to date.

Future pages will track in greater detail the evolution of the various forest garden projects here—the kaki persimmon planting that is becoming a mini-forest garden, the conversion of our existing orchard to forest garden, the woodland garden, etc. ~January 2008
