The Homestead Dairy Cow

A few years ago Ellen and I helped a friend start a cowshare program, which has since provided many a family precious access to high quality raw milk and milk foods. An upcoming project is an interview with Heidi, to learn the requirements for caring for a family dairy cow, complete with pictures of her milking operation and her beautiful Jersey cows.

Even if you are not able to keep a cow of your own, you might find a cowshare program you can join. Check out the Cowshare FAQ I wrote for the cowshare we helped set up.
